Square Stitch
1. Two strands of lace, crossed at their centers.
2. Take one strand and flip it up and over the crossing
strand. Grab the other end of this strand and flip it up
and over from the other direction creating two loops.
3. Take the strand on your left and place it over the first
loop and under the second loop. Repeat with the
strand on your right. Slowly pull the strands to create
the first stich.
4. Pull them tight, but not too tight. You don’t want to
stretch or snap the strands.

Zipper Stitch
1. Two strands of craft lace the same length this should be
the length you want the final project to end up. These
will be stationary strands.
2. One strand of craft lace seven times the length of the first
two strands. All the movement will be with this strand.
3. Tie all three strands together with a knot.
4. With the longer strand bring it over the other two strands
and around behind them.
5. Once on the left side then weave over and under the two
stationary strands.
6. Repeat and push your work up on the stationary strands.
Hold it tight. You project will look different based on
how tight you weave and push up the. Take Care not to stretch you craft lace.
Rabbit Ears Stitch (also called Butterfly Stitch)
1. Two strands the same length.
2. Knot the strands together with an overhand knot.
3. Make a loop with the first strand and wrap the second
around it.
4. Make a loop with the second strand and pull this loop
through the previous loop.
5. Tighten the loops
6. No longer need to wrap around just make a loop and put
it through the other loop.
7. Alternate strands.
Chinese Staircase Stich
1. Two strands one 7 times longer than the first.
2. Tie the two strands in a knot.
3. Wrap the longer strand around the shorter.
4. When on the left, lay the longer strand in L shape to
the left of the shorter strand with the tail laying over
the short strand.
5. Bring the tail around behind the shorter strand and
through the triangle opening made by the L and the
shorter strand.
6. Pull the stitch tight and repeat.
7. Continue to tighten and push you stitch up. You will
see tiny knots or “beads” curling around the shorter
strand.
Brick Stitch
2023 1
1. Three pieces of craft lace two the same length and one that
is 1.5 times that length.
2. Set you work up so the longer piece of craft lace is on the
ends.
3. This is like a simple square except it has six strands.
4. All the strands will go straight across the work.
5. Start with single strands on the ends.
6. When pulling the side strands straight across go over and
under the strands from the side.
7. The loose end will always need to be contained; meaning the loose end will always go
under.
Twist Stitch
1. Three pieces of craft lace: two the same length and one
that is 1.5 times that length.
2. Set your work up so the longer piece of craft lace is on the
ends.
3. This is almost like the simple circle.
4. You will start with a simple Brick.
5. Instead of bringing the ends straight across you will bring
them across diagonally.
6. Then you just have to remember the rule that the loose
end will always need to be contained.
7. So instead of bringing your side strands straight across
you will bring the one that needs to be contained across.
The strands will change their order. Do the open ends
first and then just make sure the rest follow the over
under pattern.
